Durable investment

In Western-Europe there is enough sun to activate the solar panels. The solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. This is a durable process, because there is no release of hazardous emissions during the production of electricity.

On an annual basis, the solar panels harvest approximately 250.000 kWh electricity. That is the same amount of electricity used by sixty families. Theuma will annually save 120 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Durable start 2012

The installation of the solar panel park starts in November. Before the end of this year, there will be approximately 1000 solar panels on the roof of the factory.
The solar panel project fits perfect into our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.

The ‘Golden Bridge Award’ is an annual award that is won by the most successful Belgian or Luxembourg company exporting to the United Kingdom, in both the service and manufacturing sector.

The award was created by the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain in 1997 to acknowledge exporting efforts from Belgium and Luxembourg to the UK. It recognizes and celebrates the success of Belgian and Luxembourg business in the UK and the vital importance of enterprise and export to our economy. Whether large or small, every finalist has achieved outstanding success in exporting to the UK. They are the standard bearers for the very best of Belgian and Luxembourg exports.

The reception started with a speech of mr. Slingerland, director of Slingerland Bouw. After the speech the flags were risen and mr. Doeksen, director of Theuma, made a champagne toast to celebrate the reach of the highest point.

Start building

Slingerland Bouw officially started building on May 4th. The new building is located near the highway A28 and has a surface of 12.000 m2. The location is easily accessible via highways A1 and A28, and offers enough parking spaces.

In the next decades, controlling and decreasing carbon dioxide emissions is one of the biggest challenges. Theuma doesn’t avoid this challenge.

Theuma has a sustainable investment policy, to minimize the impact on the environment through her activities. An important part of this policy is the responsible use of energy. Constant observation, evaluation and optimization of our production processes have a positive impact on the efficient use of energy. The main target is to reduce the total energy consumption.

Green electricity:

• reduces carbon dioxide emissions and other harmful emissions
• decelerate the increase of the greenhouse effect
• does not cause nuclear waste
• is inexhaustible and will be available for next generations
• reduces our dependence of suppliers of fossil fuel

Theuma respects the environment through a sparing and conscious approach to using wood, raw materials and production techniques. Theuma uses these raw materials to manufacture durable, high quality doors and frames with a long lifespan.
