Theuma successfully completed a new fire-resistance test. The result means Theuma meets the demand of a European 30 minute fire-resistance standard for wooden inside doors in a wooden frame.
What is special about the fire-resistance test is that the door and frame now comply with the 30 minute EI1 requirement in accordance with EN1634-1. EI1 is the strictest criterion for fire resistance and thermal insulation. The thermal insulation criterion, laid down in Belgium, is described by the market as ‘practically unfeasible with simple door constructions’.
The thing that makes the successful fire-resistance test even more special is the simplicity of the door construction and the door’s relatively large measurements (980 x 2315 mm). The thickness of the door is 40 mm and it can be in an MDF and plywood frame.
The new certificate gives our range of fire-resistant doors and frames a solid foundation for the future.
